Counsellor

Narelle Dickinson has been practising as a Psychologist in Queensland for over 13 years and is registered with the Queensland Psychologist Registration Board.  She currently operates a private psychology practice with a focus on women’s mental health, and has been an active member of the Queensland Psychologists Registration Board since 2004.  

She has undertaken postgraduate research and coursework study in psychology and is active in numerous professional associations, including the Australian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy and the Australia and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association.  She has practised in government and non-government settings, in the areas of mental health, women’s health, fertility, paediatric services, relationships counselling, physical health and disability.  Narelle has supervised a number of postgraduate psychology students, and has lectured and tutored in psychology.

Psychology Student

Lydia Elsworthy BSc (Psychology) graduated from University of Queensland in 2009. She is currently completing the fourth year Honours program working with Dr Bernadette Watson through the School of Psychology at University of Queensland. Her current Honours study involves IVF research; specifically, her thesis aims to identify predictors of coping with IVF treatment. Lydia is aiming to complete post-graduate study in order to practise as either a health or sports psychologist.

 

 



Psychology Student

Casey Williams is currently completing Honours for a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of Queensland (commenced 2007). In 2010 Casey will be working with the staff and patients at Assisted Conception Australia, investigating what measures can be put in place to assist hospital staff in determining who is at risk for stress during infertility. This research aims to provide better health care for patients and families affected by infertility, as well as add to literature regarding issues associated with infertility. She aims to complete post-graduate study at the University of Queensland in order to practice as a registered Clinical Psychologist.
